I always preferred Male Druids 15k or Tormentors 15k,along with their 1.5k versions. Those were the best tyrian armors i ever liked.

You won't be able to recreate the dyes though.

I like whichever armor has "shoulder buffs". What I mean is that stuff sticks out, because that's what I like (yes i'm wierd now stfu). Some examples are
15K Glads (my first 15K set because of the coolio blade thing sticking out)
Ele FoW
Rit FoW
Nec 15k Luxon
Ranger 15K Sunspear
Also, I like headgears that are tall...like the '06 yuletide cap...

Finally I salvaged my 15K char hides and got a set of ascalon armor, used an ultra deep blue dyed color, now it feels much lighter weight and more comfortable to look at. I might post what my warrior looks like now in a bit.

Krytan ranger is great fun, with a druids mix. My ranger has full fissure, which I suppose is *technically* old skool, but...
I never liked the female warrior armour much, until I got Primevil because most are chainmail bikini's and don't cover the important bits (platmail is a good example of this).
The old chapter 1 monk armour sucked. I hated the weird armour that looked foreign.
Ironically enough, it was the foreign chapter 2 that gave monks decent hairstyles (that didn't make you look like you just got mauled by a blind hairdresser) and trousers that actually went down to the ankles instead of just past the knees.
Ele: No comment.
Necro-I crafted 15k cultist and 15k necrotic, and I've only gone on to craft an ascalon set in the rest of the chapters. Maybe get the elite luxon armour or kurzick but I don't really feel any inclination. Especially with the others.
And I know it doesn't really count, but I kinda want to knock out a seitung or shing jea set of assassin armour for old time's sake, to go with her fow. XD

I didn't like how GW:EN recycled art for armor designs, and wish they would do more armor like good ol' Prophecies. But yes, I do like the classic designs of the older armor. Sometimes, I just want to go get old Ascalon for my warrior and go thrash.
Too many people wear elite armor, it's almost not so...elite anymore.

The Tyrian armor for female mesmers - I saw a mesmer wearing that top dyed black with a tasteful mix of other armor pieces, and really liked it. She looked like a dressage rider, or a classy pirate, and not at all like the ornately costumed female mesmers you usually meet.

They were 'reskins' of 1k armors of the same type. You can NOT compare this to what GWEN did. kthxbai

Most? Last time I check, Gladiator Armor was the only one like that (and maybe platmail, but not from my memory), the rest seem to be well covering.
Anyway, the Tyrian Armors do rock, 15K male druids is nearly unbeatable for rangers in my eyes. And 1K Knights for for females, is much better than it's elite version.

Aye.
My precious ...
(Although he has to get my precious mask - the 15k Canthan ...)
Factions was the best era for armour imo though. They really gave us some very nice options + it's the chapter of the ritualist which is just the most insanely gorgeous character in GW.

Glad's looks like something for kinky bedroom exploits, or to wear in elona/crystal desert.
Platemail has a pretty large part of the chest exposed
Both Knight/templar sets show the boobs off a bit, and the 15k even has a skirt.
Krytan and Chainmail both have skirts, again, not the most practical covering.
I know it's dumb, it's just one of my idiosyncrasies.

I still have the old Ascalon Knights set dyed in a shade of silver that's impossible to replicate nowadays. My other warrior still wears a Glad combo despite having the old Obsidian set just picking up dust in his bags. My monk and necro have old tats and scars galore.
Beyond that, I happen to like most of the new stuff.

I have to agree. The rit armors are the most varied and ornately detailed in the game.
